Sharing
Share a link so others can open your app, or add people by email with a role. Sharing is different from publishing to Test.
Use Share in the top bar to let other people open your app. You can copy a link, or add people by email and give each one a role: Co-owner, Editor or Viewer.
Share a link
- Run your preview so the app has an address.
- Press Share in the top bar.
- Press Copy link and send it.
If the app has no address yet, Kuika AI says so. Run the preview and the link appears.
People who open the link see your app in viewer mode. They can use it, but they cannot change it. Each person gets their own copy of the data in their own browser, so what they add does not show up for you or for anyone else.
Add people with a role
Under Share, open Manage access. In the Add people box, enter an email address, pick a Role and press Invite.
| Role | What the person can do |
|---|---|
| Viewer | Read-only. |
| Editor | Edit and publish the app. No source download, no live data. |
| Co-owner | Almost everything an owner can, including live data and source download. Cannot manage secrets or change who created the app. |
You can only hand out roles up to your own level. Under People with access you can change a role later, press Remove access, or press Make owner to hand the app to someone else. The previous owner stays a co-owner.
Turn on Include live data only when the person really should see the app's real data.
Who can open the app
In General access you choose who can open the app:
- Only people you share with
- Workspace members
- Public, so anyone with the link can open it
A person who is on your list can still be marked Waiting until they are a member of your organization or workspace. Invite them there first. See Workspaces and invitations.
Sharing or publishing to Test?
| Sharing | Publishing to Test | |
|---|---|---|
| What others see | Your app in viewer mode | A running app on its own web address |
| Data | Each person has a private copy in their browser | One shared Test database |
| Good for | A quick look, feedback | QA, demos, real use by a team |
Rule of thumb: share when you want opinions, publish to Test when people need to actually work with the app. Details are in Test and production.
