Plan mode
Plan mode lets Kuika AI ask a few questions and write a plan first. You review it, change it in chat, and approve it before anything is built.
Plan mode makes Kuika AI stop and plan before it builds. Kuika AI asks a few quick questions, writes a plan of the screens, data and order of work, and waits. Nothing is built until you approve. It works for new apps and for changes to apps that already exist.
Turn it on
Use the Plan mode switch in the prompt box. The short label is Plan. With it on, the box says that you can review and approve the plan before building. With it off, Kuika AI plans quickly and starts building by itself, so you do not need to click anything.
On the home page and on your apps page the switch is the same, and Kuika AI remembers your last choice in your browser.
Planning a new app
- Turn on Plan mode, describe your app and send it.
- Kuika AI shows A few quick decisions: short questions with a Recommended answer on each. Pick an answer, or use Decide for me to let Kuika AI choose. Leave all to me hands over every remaining question at once.
- Select Create the plan. Any question you did not answer is decided for you.
- Read the plan. It lists the screens, the colors, the data and how the app flows.
- If you want something different, just say so in the chat. You can also select sections of the plan and attach a note to them (up to three sections at a time).
- When you are happy, select Create the app. Kuika AI starts building.
Code starts only when you approve.
Planning a change to an existing app
You can use Plan mode on an app that is already built, for larger changes where you want to see the approach first.
- Turn on Plan mode in the chat box.
- Describe the change. For example:
Add a customer discount system with discount codes, an admin screen to manage them, and a code field at checkout
- Kuika AI writes a plan and shows Plan ready. Open it with Open plan to see the tabs: Overview, Steps, Files, Risks and Open questions.
- Reply in chat to refine the plan. Each refinement makes a new version, and you can go back to an earlier one.
- Select Build this plan to apply it, or Discard to start over.
Once you approve, Kuika AI switches back to building by itself.
When to use it
- Use Plan mode for big or unclear ideas, apps with many roles, or changes that touch several screens. Reading a plan takes a minute and is cheaper than rebuilding.
- Skip it for small edits like a new button or a color change. Just ask in chat. See Chat editing.
