Hear how your build went, even after you leave
New
If you close the tab while Gate is building, you now get the result anyway, as a notification in Gate and by email. Before, this only happened if you had pressed "Notify me".
You will not be notified when you stop a build yourself.
Product photos that match the product
FixedDesign
Sample product photos in new apps now show the right kind of thing. A grocery app could end up with plated restaurant dishes on items like apples or olive oil, because any food photo was considered a match.
Now product lists get photos of products, and dish photos are used only in apps that actually serve meals, such as a restaurant menu. When no fitting photo exists, the image stays empty and shows a neat placeholder instead.
Fix all failing tests in one go
New
When two or more tests fail in the Testing panel, a "Fix all" button now appears in the status bar. Gate fixes them together in one pass and runs those tests again, instead of one round per test.
You see the credit cost and confirm before it starts. Up to 10 tests are fixed per round; press the button again if more are left.
A refreshed Users & access panel
ImprovedFixedTeams
The Users & access panel under More got a full redesign, with four tabs: Users, Roles, Sign-in & policy and a new Activity tab.
- Select several users and act on them together, and download your user list as CSV.
- Rename or duplicate a role, and jump to Preview as straight from the role list.
- The Activity tab shows recent changes to users, roles and sign-in settings, and who made them.
- Fixed: saving changes in the account settings group no longer fails.
A clear result card at the end of every build
ImprovedFixed
When Gate finishes building a new app, the chat now shows a result card: done, done with problems, still checking, or failed. It shows how long the build took and, when something is wrong, what kind of problem it was and where.
The card stays in the chat after you reload the page. Before, some endings disappeared on reload or came back as a plain line of English text.
Sample data now follows the numbers you give
ImprovedData
When you say how big your data should be, for example "2,000 employees across 8 branches", Gate now fills the related tables in proportion too. Before, the main table got the right size while the tables around it stayed thin and everything pointed to a single branch.
Fixed lists that belong to your field, such as a country's public holidays, are now filled in completely.
See how your tables connect
NewData
The Database view now has a Cards and Diagram switch. The diagram lays out your tables and draws the links between them, so you can see at a glance which orders belong to which customer. Hover over a table to highlight its neighbors.
- Each table's schema tab has a new Relationships card.
- Connected external databases now open on their own page, with the same cards, diagram, table preview and SQL console.
The SQL console is back as a full query window
NewData
The Database view has a SQL console again, now as a proper query window. It suggests your own table and column names as you type, shows results in a grid and puts row counts, timings and error messages in a separate Messages tab.
Press Cmd/Ctrl + Enter to run the selected text, or the whole query when nothing is selected. The console is available to everyone who can edit the app's data.
Visitors can chat with your app's assistant
Fixed
People who open your app through a share link can now talk to the app's built-in assistant. Before this, the assistant button showed up for them, but every message failed.
The assistant answers visitors within their own copy of the app, so nothing they do changes your data. If you prefer it to stay quiet for visitors, turn off "Visitors" in the AI panel's settings.
Your app's assistant now reads files and photos
New
If your web app has a built-in AI assistant, its users can now attach files to a message. The assistant reads PDF, Word and plain text files such as CSV, and it can look at JPG, PNG, WEBP and GIF images, like a photo of a receipt.
- Up to three attachments per message, 2 MB each.
- Large phone photos are made smaller automatically so they fit.
- A message can be sent with just an attachment and no text.
Plan questions now come one at a time
ImprovedDesign
When you start a new app in Plan mode, the quick decisions now appear one at a time, with large option cards and a counter that shows how far along you are. One option is marked as recommended, and the questions themselves are shorter.
- Pick an option with the number keys 1 to 9, and move between questions with the arrow keys.
- "Decide for me" and "Leave all to me" work as before.
- The finished plan is laid out in clear blocks: screens, data, colour palette, user flow and anything that needs your attention.
What will you build today?
Describe it in a sentence. Gate does the rest.
