Click to edit
Click any element in your app's preview to change it. Edit text in place, adjust color, font, spacing and corners, or ask the AI to rewrite just that element.
Click to edit lets you point at something in the preview and change exactly that. Select an element, then edit its text, restyle it with the toolbar, or describe the change and let Kuika AI rewrite it. The change goes into the real app, in exactly the right place.
Select an element
- Open your app's preview.
- Turn on design editing with Edit design (short label Edit). The hint says: click any element to select and restyle it.
- Click the button, heading, card or image you want to change.
A toolbar appears next to the element. To go back to using the app normally, choose Exit design editing.
Edit a single element
The toolbar has these tools:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Regenerate | Asks the AI to rewrite just this element. Pick a direction such as Explore other styles, Try another layout, Switch the colours or Start fresh, or describe it yourself. |
| Edit Element | A small chat box for this element: describe the change in your own words. |
| Background, Text color | Change the fill and the text color. You can pick from your app's theme colors or a custom color. |
| Font, Font size, Alignment | Change the typeface, text size and where the text sits. |
| Corner radius | Make corners sharper or rounder. |
| Opacity | Make the element more or less see-through. |
| Spacing | Adjust the space inside and outside the element. |
| Open in code | Jump to the element in the code editor. |
| Delete element | Remove the element. |
| Select a parent | Move your selection to the element around it. |
Edit text in place
For text that you typed once, such as a heading or a button label, you can edit the words directly on the screen. If the text comes from data, for example a name pulled from the database, use Edit Element and describe the change instead. Text in a list or repeated card changes every copy.
Select several elements
You can select more than one element and change them together. A style change then applies to every element in the selection. If the values differ, the panel shows that they are mixed. Elements must come from the same source file to be styled together.
Undo and redo
Made a style change you do not like? Use the undo control to revert the last style change, and the redo control to bring it back. Kuika AI also keeps checkpoints, so you can restore an earlier state from the history.
Good to know
- If Kuika AI is still building or answering a chat message, your click edit waits until it finishes, then applies.
- Some pieces come from Kuika AI's built-in components. If you select one, Kuika AI moves the selection to the nearest part of the screen you can edit.
- On teams, only the person who holds the editor lock can make changes.
Mobile apps
For mobile apps, you click elements in the phone-framed preview. You can use the AI edit, edit text, delete an element and open it in code. The visual style tools for color, font and spacing are not available on mobile.
For changes that are easier to explain than to point at, use Chat editing.
