Data

A real database in every app.

Gate sets up the tables your app needs and keeps your data safe as the app changes. Manage it all without leaving the builder.

Every app built with Kuika Gate has its own database, created from your description, with a data panel to edit rows, design tables, import CSV files and run SQL. Apps can also connect to existing SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle databases, produce PDF reports and run scheduled jobs.

Your data, ready to manage

Gate creates the tables from your description. New apps start with example rows, so the screens are never empty. Open the data panel to edit rows or bring in what you already have.

  • Edit rows and design tables visually
  • Example rows from the first build
  • CSV import and export, plus a SQL console

Safe through every change

When the app’s data model changes in the preview, your existing rows move with it. Take a named backup before a big change and restore it if you need to.

  • Data kept across changes
  • Automatic and named backups
  • Restore in a click

Reports and scheduled jobs

Design invoices, labels and reports with page headers, page breaks and charts. Let the app send the Monday report or clean up old records on a schedule.

  • PDF report designer
  • Jobs on a schedule you set, with run history
  • Run any job by hand

Connect the databases you already have

Connect an existing SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle database, browse its tables, and read across sources next to the app’s own data.

  • SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Oracle
  • Read and combine data across sources
  • REST endpoints and an OpenAPI definition in every app

Templates

Questions, answered.

Does Kuika Gate include a database?

Yes. Every app gets its own database, set up from your description. You manage it in the data panel: edit rows, design tables, import or export CSV and run SQL.

Can I connect my existing database?

Yes. Kuika Gate apps can connect to existing SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Oracle databases, show their tables and read data across sources alongside the app’s own database.

Will I lose data when I change the app?

Not in the preview: when the data model changes, existing rows are carried over. On the test environment a bigger data change may ask you to reset test data first. Take a named backup before a big change and restore it whenever you need.

Can my app create PDF invoices or reports?

Yes. Web apps include a PDF report designer for invoices, labels and reports with page headers and footers, page breaks, charts and watermarks.

Which database is used when I publish?

Each environment gets its own database, separate from your preview data, and Gate sets it up for you. Companies that run apps on their own servers can bring their own database.
