PDF reports

Ask Kuika AI for printable PDF reports such as invoices and summaries, then fine-tune the page layout, headers, charts and watermark in the Reports view.

Kuika AI can turn your app's data into printable PDF reports: invoices, monthly summaries, filtered lists and more. You describe the report in the chat, the AI builds it, and you can adjust the page in the Reports view.

Create a report

The quickest way is to ask in the chat. A short request like "add a report" is enough. The AI picks sensible defaults, such as the main table, its key columns and newest first, and tells you what it chose so you can ask for changes.

You can also work from the Reports view:

  1. Open Reports at the top of the builder.
  2. Press New report. If the app has no reports yet, pick a starting page instead: a chart, a list or a one-record sheet.
  3. Describe the report in the box, or pick one of the examples. The examples use your app's own tables.
  4. Press Create report. Your request goes to the chat and the AI writes the report.

Your reports show up as cards. Open one to see its outline, edit it and download the PDF.

What a report can have

  • Page setup. Pick a page size or enter your own width and height, choose portrait or landscape, and set the margins in millimeters.
  • Header and footer. Set their heights and add page numbers.
  • Watermark. Add text or an image, and set opacity, angle, color and size.
  • Page breaks. Start a new page wherever you want one.
  • Content. Titles, headings, text, images, key figures, data tables, grouped and summary tables, and bar, line, area and pie charts.
  • Stamps. A generated-at time, a parameter summary and a confidentiality label.

The PDF is created by your running app, so the numbers always come from your current data. A report that reads private data only shows what the signed-in person is allowed to see.

Invoices and detail sheets

A report can print a single record on one page, which suits invoices and detail sheets. When you create a report, pick the one-record starting page or ask for it in the chat.

Limits and tips

  • The app preview must be running to open reports. If you see "The app preview is not running", start the preview and refresh.
  • A report can be up to 100 pages. For bigger ones, add a filter or a row limit.
  • Some reports can need a permission. The card then shows a badge such as Needs followed by the permission. See Roles and permissions.
  • If a report is marked Definition unreadable, ask in the chat to repair it.
