Data and users · Lesson 1/3
Manage your app's data
Every Kuika AI app has its own database. Learn to browse tables, edit rows, import and export CSV files, and keep backups of your data.

Goal: find, change and move your app's data without leaving Kuika AI.
What you will do
- Open the Database view and browse the tables
- Edit a row and import a CSV file
- See how tables relate to each other
- Take a named backup
Where your data lives
Every app Kuika AI builds gets its own database. While you build, that data is yours alone: it is kept in your browser, with backups on the server so a closed tab or a new computer does not lose it. When you publish to the Test environment, Test gets its own separate database that everyone shares.
Steps
- Open the Database view above the preview. You see each table as a card. Switch to Diagram to see how the tables connect, for example which orders belong to which customer.
- Open a table and edit a row directly. The preview uses the new value right away.
- Import a CSV file with Import CSV. Choose the file, say whether the first row is a header, and match the file's columns to the table's columns. A preview of the first rows shows what will be written.
- Export rows with Export CSV when someone needs them in a spreadsheet. It downloads the rows shown in the table.
- Take a backup in the Backups area before a big change. Give it a name so you can find it, and restore it if something goes wrong.
Try this
Add a products table with name, category, price and stock, link each order line to a product, and fill it with 40 sample products in 5 categories.
After Kuika AI makes the change, open the Database view and look at the new table and its links in the Diagram.
Check yourself
- Where would you go to load a list of customers from a CSV file?
- Who sees the data you edit in the preview?
- What would you do before a change that might affect a lot of data?
Next lesson: Add sign-in and roles.
