How to build a booking app with AI

Build an appointment or reservation app for a clinic, salon, studio or meeting room. Services, time slots, confirmations and reminders, described in plain words.

You can build a booking app by telling Kuika AI what people book, who they book with and how long each booking takes. Kuika AI builds a web app with a booking flow, a schedule for your staff, an admin area and its own database. It can also send confirmation and reminder emails. You review a plan before anything is built and refine the result by chat or by clicking on the screen.

Decide what is being booked

Booking apps look alike from the outside, but the rules differ. Answer these before you write the prompt:

  • What is booked? A service (a haircut), a person (a consultant), a place (a meeting room) or a mix.
  • How long does it take? A fixed slot, or a duration per service.
  • Who can book? The public, signed-in customers, or only your staff on behalf of customers.
  • What can never happen? For example, two bookings for the same stylist at the same time, or bookings outside opening hours.

The last point matters most. Say it clearly in your prompt, then test it yourself.

Step by step

  1. Describe the booking flow in the Kuika AI prompt box and choose Web.
  2. Keep Plan mode on and answer the quick decisions. Typical questions are about cancellations or how far ahead people can book.
  3. Read the plan. Check that it has a screen for customers, a screen for staff and an admin area, and that the data includes services, staff, opening hours and bookings.
  4. Press "Create the app" and watch the screens appear in the preview.
  5. Book something. Make a booking as a customer, then try to book the same slot again. If the second booking goes through, tell Kuika AI that a slot must not be double-booked.
  6. Check each role with Preview as in the preview tools: a customer, a staff member and the owner.

Here is a prompt for a salon:

Build an appointment booking app for a hair salon. Customers pick a service, a stylist and a free time slot, then confirm with their name, phone and email. Each service has a duration and a price. Stylists see their own schedule for the day. The owner manages services, stylists and opening hours and sees all bookings in a calendar.

Confirmations and reminders

Kuika AI apps can send their own email. Ask for the messages you want and Kuika AI writes them, including the subject and the text. Under More › Email you choose how the app sends mail: Kuika AI's built-in sender works without setup for small volumes, or you connect your own mail service.

Reminders are scheduled jobs. Describe when they run:

Email the customer a confirmation right after booking, with the service, stylist, date and time. Send a reminder email at 18:00 on the day before the appointment. Let customers cancel from a link in the email up to 12 hours before.

Make it fit your business

A few common follow-ups, each as its own chat message:

  • "Add breaks and days off for each stylist."
  • "Show the next available slot first."
  • "Let the owner block a time range for holidays."
  • "Add a simple report of bookings per service for the last 30 days."

For visual changes, click Edit design in the preview, then click the element you want to change. You can adjust colors, fonts, corner radius and spacing directly, or describe the change in your own words.

Going mobile

If your customers book mostly on their phones, choose Mobile on the home page instead of Web. Kuika AI then builds a mobile app and shows it in a phone frame in the preview. Every web app Kuika AI builds also works in a phone's browser, and you can check it with the mobile view in the preview.

Let real people use it

The preview runs in your own browser with your own data. To take real bookings, publish the app to the Test environment from the Publish menu. Test has its own HTTPS address and one shared database, so every booking lands in the same place. When nobody uses it for a while, Test goes to sleep and wakes up on the next visit, which can take up to two minutes.

Common questions

Can a booking app stop double bookings?

Yes, if you tell Kuika AI it is a rule. Write it in the prompt, for example "a stylist cannot have two bookings at the same time", then test it by booking the same slot twice.

Can customers get a confirmation email?

Yes. Ask for confirmation and reminder emails in the chat. You choose the sending method under More › Email, either Kuika AI's built-in sender or your own mail service.

Can I take payments in the booking app?

This guide does not cover online card payments. A simple start is to record the price of each booking and whether it was paid at the venue. Ask Kuika AI in the chat if you need more.

What will you build today?

Describe it in a sentence. Kuika AI does the rest.

Press Enter to build, Shift + Enter for a new line. You will review it in Kuika AI before anything starts.
